Teach God’s word or be like the early tenants who wanting to own the vineyard and make their own decisions instead of following God’s way. September 25, 2011 Look at your response to God. Did you say yes to Him and did not do It? Or did you say no to God’s ways? But you are now ready to follow His way? September 18, 2011 Think forgiveness. Look at yourself and things you have done. God’s mercy is there for all of us the good and the bad. September 11, 2011 Rethink what you heard in the scripture this week about forgiveness. Why is it that You find it so difficult to forgive. Ask yourself what would happen if I forgive and let it go? July 31, 2011 Look at those around you and put yourself in their shoes– are they hungry or hurting July 24, 2011 Pray each day to have an understanding heart and to have an understanding heart for others. July 17, 2011 Check the quality of your patients! July 10, 2011 As a scripture scholar has pointed out, the parable of the sower is probably more about the condition of the soil of our soul. This provides some reflection questions for us to ponder:
Is the soil of my soul hardened by serious sin, the neglect of my responsibilities as a loving, generous parent, spouse, sibling, and member of this faith community? Do I think God can grow faith, hope and love in a soul that is like a cement sidewalk or an asphalt parking lot?
Is the soil of my soul like rocky ground, cluttered with clumps of unrealistic priorities, too much work and not enough prayer, unhealthy habits and relationships? How often have my good intentions fizzled out for lack of the roots of fidelity, sincerity and steadfastness?
Is the soil of my soul full of a stifling assortment of the thorns of worldly anxiety, the lure or attraction of riches, the illusion that more is always better, the failure to know and love Jesus with my whole heart, whole soul, and whole strength and my neighbor as myself?
